Purgatory's waiting room

Posted by Picasa

Today I had to take my mother to the IRS office in El Monte so she can clear up a tax matter. Bloodly hell, we waited over two hours before we spoke to a rep! But at least the woman was helpful. All I can say to you all, be anal about making copies and keeping records on everything you send the IRS.

I love Paris in the springtime - why oh why do I love Paris

 Now I heard everything! That trust-fund, bottle blond heiress, Paris Hilton is meeting with Marvel Comics to see about having them create a super hero character based on her! What's going to be her super power? Shopping?

You're pitiful, you're pitiful

While driving to yoga class this morning James Blunt's song "You're beautiful" came over the radio. Ever seen that video? This guy sings this song about seeing a woman, who is with a man at the time but does he go up to her and ask her for her telephone number or ask who the guy is (Hello; he could had been her brother a a Gay best friend- beautiful women have them) but no he just laments and says he has a "Plan". "What is his plan?"; you may ask; he jumps off a bridge! What kind of dump ass plan is that? Who is this woman? Helen of Troy? Still no one is worth jumping off a bridge for! Some women state this song is so romantic but I think it's silly, emotionlism! But I guess it works for James Blunt, he's dating a super model now.

Two face Woman

Razors pain you;
Rivers are damp;
Acid stain you;
And drugs cause cramps.
Guns aren't lawful;
Noose give;
Gas smell awful;
You might as well live.

Dorthy Parker's Resume

Not feeling as weepy today but I won't be dancing a jig soon either but feeling better. Thanks for the love!

Money makes the world go around...

Last night while surfing the web an ad popped up for a dating web site called ;'Sugar Daddy . com"! Excuse me? Why not called it for what it is gold digger dot com! Okay, what millionaire will be stupid enough to go on a such a web site to find a woman? And if you're an attractive woman believe me rich men find you! You don't need to go to a web page! Besides if you do use this site you're telling the guy that you're only interested in his money! I wonder if this is a date site for singles or a site where old rich geezers can find a sex toy. They should call it find a mistress dot con. What kind of shallow world are we?

There's a bad moon out tonight...

"There's a bad moon out tonight" or is it "There's a bathroom on the right?" Anyway, last night there was a beautiful full moon out last night and while looking at it I saw this cute opossum looking down at me.

People love to say there is more energy when the full moon is out therefore the term lunatic. But truth to tell in the past there was a lot more crimes and activity because it was bright out during the full moon making crime easy.

Still,it was a beautiful moon.

Remeber you werewolves, lock yourself up tonight for you know what they they say; "Even a man who is pure of heart and says his prayers at night can turn into a werewolf when the wolfbane blooms and the moon is full and bright."

And they lived happily ever after... NOT!

 Reading Carnal Zen's blog and was interested in comments about love. Her words made me wonder. I truly believe in the power of love but not so in the relationships between men & women. We seem to be doomed for frustration. There is this women talk advisor called Dr. Laura and whenever a woman phones to complain with righeous indignation about her husband she makes the statement; "Would you rather be right or be loved?" Danm; I think can't we have both or be loved for being right? The new Woody Allen movie makes the statement that true romantic love is desire unfulfilled. There is something to that statement I believe all great love stories involve conflict of some sort. We always seem to burn hotter for that object which we can't have and familiarity does lead to boredom.  What is the answer? One thing I've learned being a crazy bitch doesn't make a woman unattractive to a man. I've known many a man to fall for a real drama queen. Maybe that's my problem, I keep my drama to myself maybe I should be more a ragging harpy? What is love? It seems love only works in fairy tales.

Can't help lovin that man of mine

There is a new study that states that women on the birth - control pill make bad choices in picking men! Has something to do with the increase of hormones that the pill causes. I knew it wasn't just me. I have a talent to pick the wrong man to love. This year my doctor took me off the pill and I haven't been on a "Date" for months! And here's the kicker, I really can care less. Then this year my life has been filled with more than enough drama!

Sing out Lousie -SMILE BABY - Mama Rose - Gypsy

People always say that people from L.A. are shallow and surperficial about their appearance but it seems that concern over superficial beauty is universal on this planet. The Chinnese Olmypic committee picked a cute, pretty little girl to lip sing while another (also cute girl sang off stage) because they wanted the world to see only pretty people. How shallow can you be? It isn't enough to have talent?

Punch drunk

One thing that is disheartening about living in L.A., the so called "Entertainment Capital of the World" , is the fact that the locals don't support small live theater. Unless it's a full blown production such as "Wicked" most small theater productions are ignored; pity! I was so thrilled to attend the gala evening of the Rogue Artists Ensemble's production of "The Tragical Comedy or Comical Tragedy of Mr. Punch". A rather dark tale based on the graphic novel of Neil Gaiman & Dave McKean. The production was dark and magical and did full justice to Mr. Gaiman's dark wit and themes as well as captured the beauty and wit of Dave McKean's art work. I also had the pleasue of meeting Dave McKean and his charming wife (another six degrees of Neil Gaiman moment). The Rouge players were wonderful as well as the staff of the Bootleg Theater were open, kind and friendly! Plus, due to being a gala I enjoyed free food, cocktails and the music from a great band before the show and you won't get that seeing "Wicked"! Scroll down for more cool shots of the evening.

Take a virtual tour of the Comic Con

Before attending the Comic Con I was turning into a bit of an agoraphobic! Wandering around shell shock, I just wanted to stay safe in my cave but going to therapy forced me to ventured out of my comfort zone, so I went to the Comic Con and glad I did. Where else can you sip cocktails and enjoy an amazing conversation with the charming and talented Graphic Novelist Eddie Campbell,enjoy a quick chat with the brillant writer Joe Hill and meet not one but three Captain Jack Sparrows? Then kick back after a day of pounding a beat on the convention floor , sipping more cocktails with a full ocean view!

Scroll down for con photos. to get the full slide show you must hit older posts about five times but the photos do give you a good idea what the Comic Con is like. No Neil Gaiman this year but you can't have everything but I met and I got my "MirrorMask" book signed by that genius artist Dave McKean!

Over the hill

One of the most charming and sweet writers I saw and met was Joe Hill. A very talented writer his books "Heartshape Box" & "20th Century Ghosts" are a wonderful read! He arrived to his spotlight 15 minutes early and answered all questions! He's very shy but very interesting! Check out his books!
