I have no time for the pain

Razors pain you;
Rivers are damp;
Acid stain you;
And drugs cause cramps;
Nooses gives;
Gas smells awful;
You mind as well live.

Resume - Dorothy Parker

Damn; I'm in pain! I felt okay all afternoon after my operation but took a nap and woke up dead! I mean my head feels like it's on fire. So taking pain killers and icing my face.

The night they invented Champagne...

3 things I shall never attain,
Envy,
Content,
and sufficient Champagne. - Dorothy Parker

I need dutch courage for some minor surgery. Last week the rim of the trunk of my car fell on the brigde of nose. Causing a minor break, so my doctor wants to do some laser work on the inside of my nose. He claims the operation may cure my snoozing. I snore like a Bull-Moose.
My snoozing is so loud....
HOW LOUD IS IT?
It's so loud, that one morning I thought who is working their leave blower this early in the morning and then realized it was my own snoozing!
So I'm relaxing myself, the natural way.

"In victory, you deserve Champagne, in defeat you need it!" Napoleon Bonaparte

Spoken like a true French man! Viva la France!

By the way, do you know how many buddles are in a bottle of champagne? I do, 50 million buddles! And I love everyone of them!

Cool as a cucumber

The weather has cooled down to a lovely 75 and with a cool breeze. Not much help for the fires in the foothill though, they're still burning at least I'm not.

By the sea, by the sea, by the beautiful sea

We'er having a bit of a heat wave in Southern California. In the 90s and claiming. Too hot for yoga , or so I thought while driving down the 101 Hollywood freeway. So I kept on driving and took it to PCH and drove up the coast for the day. The beach was lovely but crowded! But the seagulls didn't mind. While driving back home on the 210 saw the bush fires on the San Gabriel mountains. These Santa Ana winds are just blowing so strong that if so hard to contain these fires. I always though living in the foothills would be so lovely but here it's so dangerous. A great view just isn't worth the price of your house and home. So I believe in being a flat land girl.

Purple Haze

Due to the muscle relaxers I still see the world in a purple haze. Life can look lovely in a purple haze but I feel like I don't have a bone in my body and just want to veggie out on the sofa and watch mindless T.V. Even writing this I want to ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

"Poppies, poppies, poppies" Wicked Witch of the West

Yesterday I pulled a back muscle in yoga class, then while crawling down stairs I tripped over someone shoes and had to go to the E.R. Now, I'm on muscle relaxers and felt as loose as a goose. I'm so relax nothing can get my fir up. Still, pity. I planned on driving out to the high desert and look at the wild flowers in bloom. Well, maybe next Spring. Remember, you can look at wild flowers but it's illegal to pick them. Right, back to staring at the walls. Actually I have cabel so I'm looking forward to watching the "Tudors" tonight. Great show, great cast only one thing bugs me. Henry the Eight was over 6'2" and a red-head and the actor who plays him is not a red hair or over six feet tall. Still, great show.

Death & Taxes

Well, praise be, I mailed off my income taxes today! I owe money so I figure they can just as well wait! I don't mind my taxes going to the running of this country but I do mind my tax dollars going to a war I don't agree with! But what can I do? Death & taxes indeed!

The flowers that bloom in the Spring, tra la....

It's Spring and one's fancy doesn't turn to love but weight loss! Damn, what is it about we American's that makes us so obsessed with our body image? Turn on the TV and all you hear is about a new diet plan, read some blog and you'll read people write about needing to go on a diet, sit in a StarBucks and you hear people talking about going on a diet.
It's like the mantra of the American people, diet, diet, diet!
Even my favorite writer Neil Gaiman has written how he is on a DIET! Damn, isn't being brillant and an amazingly gifted writer enough for the man? He has to look slim in his black jean?
What wrong with this country?
Okay, I know summer will be here soon and even I want to look good in my bikini and short shorts but it's not a major goal of mine!
I feel that so many people are spending far too much energy stressing over a number on the scale instead of focusing on more important issues. Like improving the person within.
We are more than our weight!

Viva la France!

I'm no great fan of Red China. They use prison labor as well as child labor. There is no freedom of speech or freedom of the press. Not to mention the cruel way they have treated the nation of Tibet! So when I heard that they were to host the Olympic Games I was fluming. So I was pleased to see that France protested the carrying of the Olympic torch ! Good for you France!

Look for the union lable...

Just when you thought it was safe to walk into a Hollywood studio lot.

This morning some of my students were talking about the fact that there may be an actor's strike!

Okay, didn't the writer's strike cause enoughgh damage?

And not only that but there is a conflict between two actors union SAG and AFHA! Both going their own ways!

Great just what we need in this town another strike!
