Catch 22

Damn: the nightmare never ends. Today my mother is weak and her breathing is labored, the home nurse says her pulse is low and we called the doctor to make an appointment. Eight thirty a.m. Wednesday morning. Asked nurse if I should take her to ER but I know if I take her to the ER it will wear her out more , waiting around for hours just to admit her! He said to monitor her so it's no sleep for me tonight! I know that the ER would be very hard on her. Feel like I'm caught between the proverbial rock and hard place!

Is she on oxygen? Seems that may be all that can be done if all else is working for her.
I admire you courage to tend to her.
I hope the home nurse gives you good advice and help as to what to do in case events happen.
The best to you and your mother, I am praying for you even though I am not a very good Christian.

Oh sorry to hear about your Mum. I hope she rallies. Its a real worry isn't it. Are you able to get her admitted straight away if an emergency? Sometimes its best left to the experts.

You both have my best wishes. It's sometimes such a tough call to make - on the one hand you know someone should probably be in hospital but on the other hand they may be more comfortable/secure at home. Remember to look after yourself in all of this though - sometimes easier said than done, I know.
