Women who read "My Space"; beware!
Yesterday before stopping to the Dodger/Red Sox game, I stopped by my favorite sport's bar in South Pasadena. While there I began a quick chat with a fellow bar fly.
The guy is a nice guy but he told me how he wants to "Nail" (his words not mine) some woman on a reality show. So he e-mailed her and told her to look at his "My Space" profile. In his profile he's driving a Ferri (hope I spelled that correctly) he doesn't own such a car (or can even afford to lease such an expensive car) he has a picture of himself in a rock band( a garage rock band) but looks like he's playing in a huge professional venue, has a photo of himself in a helicopter(he claims he owns the helicopter on his My Space page) as well as owns a private jet.
I said to him : "Dude: don't you think that even if this woman does answer your e-mail and agrees to meet you, won't she want to see your hot sports car and helicopter?" This guy lives with three other guys and can barely paid his bar bill and he claiming on his "My Space" page he's a rich rock and roll back-up player.
"Well;" he said; " I know a friend who has a Ferri, I can borrow his!"
"Still dude", I stated "If she's so shallow to go for you for your imaginary money , she's going to want you to spend some on her." The guy is nice but lacks a lot of social charm and is at best average in man attraction. If the subject isn't sports he can't hold a conversation and we all know how seductive beautiful women love to talk about Sports! NOT!
Well, ladies I'm writing this to tell you to "Be afraid, be very afraid!" Just because you read it in "My Space" doesn't make it true!

Happy Easter
Okay, it's time for you twice of year Cathloics to get ye to Mass! I remember that going t0 Mass was a total pain because my parents always went to Mass very week and on Christmas and Easter I would see faces in church I never saw before. Plus the parking lot was packed as well as the pews. Must the time you couldn't find a place to sit but had to stand along the walls. Even last chance Mass, (the Mass held at 7:00 p.m. )would be full up. As if God only notice the devout twice a year. I haven't been to Mass in ages. But I believe one lives a devout life serving the spirit of our Lord in our hearts, actions and prayers. Still, Easter is a beautiful holiday. It's a reminder of rebirth, renewal of love and spirit and hope. Happy Easter!

Spring has sprung
Happy Veneral Equinox! Today is the first day of Spring , also according to my Persian gal pal it's Norouz, Persian's New Year. The Persian's New Year starts on the Veneral Equinox at the exact time of the equinox so it changes every year.My friend told me how the celebrations can begin at 2:00 p.m. or 2:00 a.m. depending on the sun position. She said she never minded if she had to get up at any time when she was a child for the holiday is like their Christmas day. They all have to put on new clothes to start the new year , have a great feast with great treats of sweets and gifts! Sounds like fun. So for all you Persians out there "Happy New Year." For all you pagans , it's also a great day to run naked at midnight and burn money that's an old Druid custom. In ancient Greece it would be the feast of Dionysus, a wild party when the women would take a young male virgin and have their way with him. Sounds like the rites of springs bring out the wild side of human nature! So eat drink and make merry! I have the wine!

Stairway to heaven
"Not hearing much of what we say,
Take what the god has given:
Through like waves breaking it may be
Or like a changed familiar tree,
Or like a stairway to the sea
Where down the blind are driven"
-Edwin Arlington Robinson
I love stairways. Especially old ones. I hold this romantic notion that they may lead to someplace of mystery, secret rooms or even enchantment. This stairway leads down to Pismo Beach which is an enchanting beach.

Red hot chilli pepper...
Not this isn't a photo of chillis but of sea weed that floated on the beach. This week feeling a bit overwhelmed. So I took a long drive down PCH and landed up at Zuma beach. A far better beach than Malibu! I love this photo for the is a paw print of someone dog who was also walking (running) along the beach. Somehow I feel so comforted by the ocean and the sounds of the beach. Maybe I was a mermaid in my first life.

Green acres is the place for me...
One lovely thing about living in the L.A. area is the fact that you can attend a Farmer's Market almost every day of the week. Each town has their own Farmer's Market where you can buy fresh produce and other goodies. I learned this weekend, one of the best weekly Farmer's Market will be closing down because the property own is selling the land to developers. Great another strip mall or condos! The Farmer's Market in San Monica will be closing! It was one of the best in L.A.! I read in the Los Angeles Times that even the chefs in Las Vegas would fly down every week to buy the fresh produce for their restaurants in Vegas! Many of the top chefs of L.A. went there for the fresh veggies and fruits. And now they're closing it! Sigh!

Keep a civil tongue...
While driving home from Big Sur I started to feel ill again. Light headed, I couldn't stop sneezing and running a fever, so mom and I stop half way down at Pismo Beach and stay at the "Cottage by the Sea". A charming inn. We had a gas fireplace in our room and a full sea view. We could sit on a tiny porch in front of our room and watch the sun go down over the ocean's horizon. We stood there for three days because the weather was so lovely and the ocean was so breathtaking.
Came home and found out that some kid in South Pasadena got the City Council to sign an ordinance to stop the use swear words for a month. "No; shit!" I guess no one on the City Council has read the Bill of Rights. "Freedom of speech? What's that?"
Made me want to stop by City Hall and swear up a storm! Okay, we shouldn't sound like we're reading aloud the screen play from "Pulp Fiction" but aren't we're getting just a little too P.C. in this country?
Hello, we do have "Freedom of speech" in this country , or at least that's how I understand the Constitution!
