The last days of Pompeii....

The people who live in or near the fire zone areas must feel like it's the last days of Pompeii! I'm far from the fire zone but the air is so heavy, hot, humid, smells of burnt wood and peppered with white ash. My car is covered with white ash and breathing is difficult, I keep coughing. I've been trying to stay indoors which is so much cooler than the outdoors. The skies are gray like a very over casted day as if it's eternal dusk. The twilight of the Gods

That is the worst I've ever seen.

I'm praying for rain.

Take care out there Yoga Gal! I didn't smell the fires at all this weekend until my flight took off Monday morning. I can't imagine living in the midst of it.

Hammer, rachelle , blind mind and greggo thanks for the kind words. It is kind of creepy here lately, living under gray skies and white ash falling all around, it does make you feel like some sort of fall out. I'm staying indoors, believe me!

Its sad that someone set the fires down in SD... So many people are going to come home to rubble. My sales rep is praying that the wind doesnt change or she's gonna have to leave. My customers have had to evacuate and at least 1 has lost a home that is at least a $1M home. That sucks. THere's only 30% containment right now and they predict another 5-14 days until things are normal again. One of my other sales reps told me that there is rain forecasted in the future, so hopefully that comes quick.

Just walked to the Marriott on Century Blvd and had a horrible meal at "33 Latitudes". LAX area SUCKS for food. Im probably renting a car tomorrow and driving to either Santa Monica (Sonny Mclaines for the Sox game) or up to W. Hollywood for some eats. Itll cost $45 but its better than a cab. I did that last time and it was $100 round trip...ugh.

I hope the winds die down soon and you can all breath again.
Lucky there is not high loss of lives ... something to be grateful for! Pompeii had great loss of life!

It's so disturbing...in an almost "end of the world" sort of way.
It must be scary being so close.
Take care.

You are so wise to rent a car in California!

That's smart to stay inside as much as possible until the air clears up. And it's amazing how fast the fires can spread. I'm so glad that you aren't in the fire zone -- what a relief!
