Let's do the time warp again...

They've closed the old Rialto movie theater, sigh! What a pity. This was the first theater I saw a midnight showing of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show". Believe me, the audience was the real show!

oh, that sucks. my cousin used to perform at the rhps screenings (usually playing magenta, but sometimes subbing for janet or columbia), and it was always fun going along, and hanging out with them afterwards at denny's. lol. funny thing - i just watched the 'wizard of oz' version of rocky horror last night. what are the odds?! hope you're doing well, sweetie!

It's heart breaking seeing that theater close down becasue they use to show the non- Big Hollywood more artsy movies! They also had great midnight movies. Like the classic movie "Freaks". Time marches on I guess.

Hi Yoga Gal! I hate it when the grand old theaters close -- all those wonderful memories boarded up. I hate the big multiplex theaters -- no soul in those at all. Hugs.

Oh wow and it looks like such a great place too. Such a shame. But at least you have those wonder time warp memories! :) Gosh I love Rocky Horror. It just doesn't get any better than that! :)

Ahhhh!!!
We have an almost identical movie theatre in town that is also closed now. It's where I saw "The Exorcist the first time!
It saddens me that now we have to go the cineplex-odion stadium seating-triplex-10 flavour popcorn-cookie-cutter theatres.
Boring!
Fabulous pic!

I guess this isn't the proper place to say I don't know which Rialto is closing and that I've never seen RHPS.

A real shame that is.
These are disappearing everywhere, only leaving ground for huge plasticky theaters showing plasticky movies...

I miss them.

To answer the question the old movie house is in South Pasadena. It was a real cool old movie house with a balcony, which was so cool to sit up at.
