All this and heavem too...
Today I went to Paso Robles for a wine adventure. The weather was glorious! A perfect warm 75 degrees. I don't understand why people don't drink. The wine is a divine gift from heaven! Christ's first miracle was to change water into wine! And sipping these rich flavored wines was like sipping a taste of heaven.
Now back at my motel room and can see and hear the gentle sound of the Pacific ocean! Bliss!

A place in the sun...
Today, I drove my mom up to Big Sur for lunch and to just reconnect with my past. When growing up, every summer my family would go up the coast to camp and enjoy the beautiful nature of our Californian forests. Then it was easy to believe in fairies and magic for the woods were filled with beauty and mystery. While driving home we stopped my a vista point to look at the elephant seals at rest. Yes,those are seals not rocks. They looked like they have been machined gun for they didn't move just basked in the sun. It make me think how hard it is for us thinking beings to just set out in a place in the sun and to think nothing but experience the warmth of the sun. While walking on the beach I see people walking with their dogs, jogging getting into shape, walking with a friend talking away but few people I see are just being in the moment. That's why it's so hard to teach meditation for we feel like we always must be "thinking" something. Not just enjoying and taking in the joy of just being, like these darling seals. They don't worry is they look fat or what they have to do when they get home. They just enjoy their place in the sun!

Surfs up...
Due to this weekends rain storms the surf is very strong and high. I was driving up the coast on PCH and the hills are so lush and green. It felt like spring had returned and I was able to walk along the beach with in my bath suit and a wrap around my waist in great comfort. Oh, to be a California Girl!

Another day in paradise....
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Ground Hog say were having another 6 weeks of winter? Not here in sunny L.A. It was in the eighties! I had to slip on another sundress after yoga class. Went to my favorite sports bar in Pasadena and watched College bastket ball and sipped beer. Rare of me but I got some real good news. Still, it's February and it's in the high eighties! What's wrong with this picture?

Correction on housing number EIGHT HUNDRED THOUSAND!
Me bad - I must proof my stuff before I hit post!
A man's home is his castle...
Well, now I heard everything!
This morning while listenting to the radio this female Financial Guru said that if a single woman wants to find a husband her best advice is to BUY A HOUSE!
Excuse me?
The attach photo of this cute little house in South Pasadena is a home valued at over eight thousand dollars! Yes, welcome to California real estate. If I could afford to buy a house on my own income why do I need a husband. As soon as I marry my humble home become community propriety!
So Ladies I guess if you're looking for your prince charming you must supply him with his castle!
INDEED!

How much wood can a Woodchuck chuck wood...
Some of you asked about Ground's Hogs Day.
Like most old traditions there are more than one story.
I always hear it was a Native American tradition. That the Native American's always watch the animals come out from hiberation (around every Feb) if the critters went back to their comfty dens they knew that Winter weather was going to last a while longer.
The Ground Hog is also called a Woodchuck ( rodent Marmota Monax) related to the squirrle.
The tradition of "Ground's Day" came from the early German immigants that celebrated the feast of "Candlemas" know as the Feast of the Presenation of Jesus to the Temple. When the priest would bless the beeswax candles with aspergillum (Holy Water), these candles were to be used throughout the year.
On this feast day the European people watched the animals come out of hiberation for the same reason the Native American watched their native critters.
So keep an eye out on your local wildlife.

Me and my Shadow....
Well, brace yourself and don't pack away those winter sweaters, Punxsutawney Phil (this is not P.P. but my own stuff ground hog Shadow) anyway the ground hog saw his shadow so six more weeks of cold winter weather. BURRRRRRRRRRRRR. However, living in Southern California I love our cold winter, which usually translate as rain. I love the rain even though most Southern Californian drivers are clueless on how to drive in the rain! Slow down for crying out loud!
Still, don't know how Phil could see his shadow. They yank the poor critter out his little home at the crack of dawn!
Still, Happy Ground Hog's Day!!!!!

My funny Valentine...
Ekk! February already! My least favorite month because my least favorite holiday is coming up "Valentine's Day"! The day that can make any wonderful, talented and beautiful woman feel like a loser because she doesn't have that special date. Even when I was in a relationship my Valentine's day sucked! My worst Valentine date was when I was with my then fiancee got ill on the rich Valentine's dinner and throw up , plus has another mess come out of his back end all over the bathroom floor and I had to clean up after him! Now that's love! Still, this jerk broke our engagement viva the telephone! What a coward! So excuse me if I'm bitter! Think, I'm going underground until Valentine's Day passes by!
