Needles and pins, needles and pins

I couldn't bare the pain in my right shoulder any longer so today I went to have acupuncture. Now I have a real fear of needles but I was in so much pain I didn't care. The acupuncture was completely painless! Due to the fact that the needles they use are so thin you don't feel them. However, the deep tissue massage was murder! First massage, then the acupunture and then with needles in shoulder and legs and feet I lied under a heat lamp. Felt great but very tired. Think I'll take a hot shower and just zone out! Night!

Sorry, I haven't been keeping up here lately. I'm interested by (this ain't as weird as it may sound at first;-) the pain in your right shoulder. Which, I hope is not the same as mine, 'cause I was just diagnosed with arthritis. Was seeing a chiropractor - before the diagnosis - who thought I might need acupuncture (which he also does) for the shoulder.
Jeez! I hate the idea of benefitting from your pain, but I can't help wondering if the acupuncture helps...?

Oh, I forgot to mention; love that pic. I'm not sure what it is, but it looks very 'dragony' and hand carved. Impressive.

Do let us know if there is any improvement afterwards. Argh! Deep tissue massage ... ouchy!

Wow, now that's a lot of physical therapy. Sounds like it purged out a lot of what was causing you pain but oh my, quite the health workout.

I'm glad you found the needles less than utterly horrifying. No one likes needles, but they don't really bother me -- used to have to take a minimum of three during the day, so they no longer scare me!

My daughter has been told that acupuncture can be very helpful in bringing on labour, so she's booking a session five days after her baby is due, just in case - she doesn't want to be pressured into an induction.

Thanks for all the kind words. The needles really helped, this in a little pain but now I can pull my blouses over my head without causing extreme pain. Yes, a, decker, it's a dragon, it was on the doorway leaving to the Asian art room at the museum of Fine Art Boston. On yes, my mother has arthritis and acupuncture really helps her with the pain! As I said the needles are tiny and thin and there is NO PAIN! Again, thanks for the kind words!
