Ashes to ashes, dust to dust....

Went out to pick up the Sunday Times and noticed that the cars , the streets , the pavement , the lawns , everything, is covered with the white ash from the fires. The air quality is a nightmare, awoke with a major sinus headache. The pressure in my head is so intense my teeth hurt! Staying indoors and off the freeways today! I hope our noble fire-fighters will be able to kill these fires today! My heart and prayers go out for all those who loss their homes to these devil fires.

Sobering subject indeed! When such things happen you see what you really value in life. Stuff is just stuff but what is most important is your health, your love ones, family & friends and your pets! Those are the things you just can't replace! My heart breaks for the people who have lost their homes!

I'll be glad when this passes.
When I wrote to my mum today I pointed out that I couldn't afford a house with a view in OC, but I like the way you look at it too.

I'm glad you have been safe from these fires so far. The images on the news are incredible.

Here's hoping that cool front comes through quickly and brings some moisture with it!

We have many floods here in midwest and wonder which would be a worst devastation. I think fire would be since all is lost and what remains is charred and useless. At least after a flood you can rip out the innards of the structure and rebuild fairly easily. Replacing all of the furniture, rugs, curtains, clothes and such.
I was once engulfed in smoke and it created a panicky feeling not unlike that of being trapped in a cave.
I wish you fresh air and easy breathing. Perhaps its time to head north for awhile? Sit it out.

goatman makes a great point. I wish they'd ban building in some areas. Ottawa's an earthquake zone and has areas with clay that sits on water...so that you have landslides with no notice.

If they now know these things, shouldn't those not be construction sites?

So very frightening indeed. I surround you with healing white light and hope that these fires let go of their grip on the earth soon.
