Read it and weep

Harry Potter mania has hit the US. This morning I went to the small book store in Larchmont Village and the workers told me that they were open at 12 midnight to sell the latest Harry Potter book and after twenty minutes they were SOLD OUT! That they had to stay open because of the pre-order people had to pick up their books like junkies picking up their next fix. I have never read a Harry Potter book and seen two of the film and they were charming but still I don't get it! But God bless that woman for inflaming people (not only children) to read! How delightful that Ameicans can be as passionate about a book as they are about the Super Bowl or the World Series!

Today on my daily photo Blog about the Town of Château-Gontier (France) my subject is about humanism.
It is high time that humanism is with dimensions in Wall Street and on the other stock exchange places in the world.
Come and visit my photo blog.
Make that our indifference does not make us to them next victims.
Relay this fight in your own blog.
In advance thank you for them.

Potter-mania is sweeping over India too! The recent book launch was huge. Almost every bookstore in our city held contests and special events for that!

I am not a fan. Have never read any HP book!

It is all hype, although the books are quite well written and the films have some fine effects.

After all the hoo-hah though you can get the book in most supermarkets in the UK without any need to queue and at a generous discount.

I KNOW!!!
It's unbelievable!
I've not read any either, but my daughter's into them...thus I've also seen 2 of the movies.
I totally agree with you...well done work, but it doesn't do anything for me.

Like you I've never read Harry Potter...but I'm amazed and excited at the hyp.
In Canada it was HUGE...on radio, tv, internet, etc.
People in my office left early to stand in line for their copies!
